Clitaurus Chronicles is an illustrated sex education storybook centering the experience of Clitty, the clitaurus, as she journeys to find her climax.

Written in the style of a picture book, this visual narrative follows Clitty: an adorable, clitoris-shaped, cartoon dinosaur, on her dream to write a novel. The conflict surfaces right away—she needs to find her narrative climax. Clitty learns some valuable lessons from a crew of interesting and extraordinary characters that guide her toward the climatic answers she is seeking. Ultimately, leading her to discover what it truly takes to find her happy ending. Learn and laugh with Clitty through cheeky sex puns and radical honesty on the realities of sexual experiences.

Clitaurus Chronicles was born out of a desire to make sex education material more playful, accessible, and inclusive. The author, Breona Mendoza, is a pleasure activist, sex therapist, and avid supporter of self-love in all respects of the word. Danny Tayara, the illustrator, has built their career as an artist and filmmaker centering experiences of queer and trans communities.

Breona and Danny hope that creating this book is that it helps people reflect on their journey to understand their bodies and relationships through the eyes and experiences of Clitty. Clitorises are often left out of sex education in schools, erased in the media, and excluded from medical research and practice. This needs to change. We hope Clitty’s story can inspire others toward self-love and pleasure.
